Erik Olson
Erik is the primary recording engineer for Night Owl Recording. With a degree in jazz piano and a diploma in recording arts, he has the experience to make you sound your best.
From singing in university choirs, playing in an acoustic pop band, working as a church musician, and gigging as a jazz pianist, Erik appreciates all styles of music. As an engineer who can relate to musicians, he prides himself in effective communication and professional, musical results. Erik previously served as the Director of Music at West Point Grey United Church, and also taught piano lessons at Staccato Studios in Burnaby. He relocated to Camrose, AB in August 2015, and is excited to expand Night Owl Recording to central Alberta. For more information about Erik, you can visit his website. David Taylor
David is the assistant tech at the Warehouse Studio by day, and by night he is a freelance audio engineer working with Night Owl Recording. As a studio tech, David has thorough understanding of how audio gear works and can use this understanding to capture a high quality recording of your performance.
David has a Diploma in Recording Technology from the Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology and many years of experience in live sound and studio work. He has worked in a broad range of genres and venues. When David is not at the studio or freelancing he can be found working in his wood shop. Nick Civiero
Nick is a freelance audio engineer working with Night Owl Recording. His experience working at numerous studios and venues ensures a quality recording in a broad range of environments.
With a keen ear for detail and a knack for understanding a client’s goals, Nick is a professional listener. When he isn’t too busy with listening he plays baritone guitar and synthesizer. Nick works as a studio assistant and engineer at The Warehouse Studio, and holds an Honours Diploma in Audio Recording Technology from the Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology. |
Joel Mohr
Joel is the business manager for Night Owl Recording. In addition to doing all the exciting things like making spreadsheets, he is also the video and lighting expert.
Joel is a multi-instrumentalist, proficient on the drums, piano, and guitar. He is also a composer, currently writing his own liturgy for use in the Lutheran church. His keen ear will help refine your recordings, and ensure that you get the best take you can. A man of many talents, Joel has a degree in business, is a firefighter in Port Moody, works for a rescue company, and to top it all off, he has just finished med school at UBC studying to become an E.R. doctor! *bio photos (Erik & Joel): Greg Steer Hayden Watson
Hayden is a freelance audio engineer working with Night Owl Recording. He has experience both making music and recording it, ensuring his ability to deliver quality results both sonically and musically.
Hayden works as a studio assistant at The Warehouse Studio and also has an Honours Diploma in Recording Technology from the Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology. On his days off, Hayden can usually be found putting his musical skills to use, drumming in a local rock band. |
